Induction Day for Students

Induction Day September 2024

We are delighted that your child has been allocated a place at Cressex Community School for September 2024 and are pleased to provide you with some important information which we hope will help to make the process of moving into secondary education as smooth as possible for them.

As we are sure you already know, each secondary school holds an induction day for Year 6 students to visit their new school in the second half of the summer term. At Cressex Community School we are holding our induction day on Tuesday 2 July 2024. All students will be expected to arrive at Cressex ready for a 9.00am start in our Main Hall. Your child will need to be in their current school uniform and bring the completed admission pack, if this has not been returned already.

All students will receive a free school meal worth £2.70 on Induction Day. This will enable them to have either a jacket potato, pasta or a choice of baguette.  Students wishing to bring their own packed lunch are welcome to do so.

Induction Day will finish at approximately 2.30pm. Parents may collect their children at this time or if students wish to wait for older brothers or sisters, we will supervise them in the Main Hall until 3.05pm.

Uniform can be purchased in store at SportCrest, Eden Centre, High Wycombe, or online via www.sportcrest.co.uk . The school also holds a limited amount of second hand uniform, which is available from reception.

School tie: Please note that, when they join Cressex, each student is allocated to one of four houses: Everest (green), Nevis (red), Olympus (blue) and Snowdon (yellow).  Each house has its own coloured tie. We will inform the students of the house they have been allocated to on Induction Day.  You will then be able to purchase the correct colour tie via ParentPay during the summer holidays.

This is an important time for your child and we look forward to working in partnership with you in the future.
