Year 10 Science and Engineering Trip to Silverstone Circuit

On Monday 9th February, our Year 10 students had the exciting opportunity to visit Silverstone Race Circuit. The day allowed students to explore the science and engineering behind Formula 1 and motorsport.

Students began their visit at the Silverstone Museum, where they explored interactive exhibits, historic race cars, and learned about the developments that have shaped motorsport over the years. The immersive displays helped students understand how physics, engineering, and innovation play a key role in racing.

Following the museum visit, students took part in a STEM workshop, where they learned about the wide range of careers involved in Formula 1, from engineering and design to data analysis and aerodynamics. They also discovered the science behind building high-performance race cars and the teamwork required within a racing team.

To end the day, students visited the Silverstone Wall of Fame, taking photos and reflecting on an inspiring day that connected classroom science with real-world applications. The trip was a fantastic opportunity for students to see how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics are used in the world of motorsport.
