Posted on: 28/09/2026From Wycombe to Westminster: Students Witness History at the Houses of Parliament
On Tuesday 24th March 2026 year 9 and 10 Citizenship GCSE and student ambassadors visited the Houses of Parliament.
Thanks to Chiltern Railways subsidised travel, we had an exciting adventure travelling by train, where we then walked to Baker Street and caught the tube to Westminster.
When arriving students experienced a 360 film about the history of the Houses of Parliament followed by an informative tour through Westminster Palace and into the House of Lords. We finished our tour in Westminster Hall and returned to the main lobby in time to see the House of Commons Speaker's procession of arrival into Parliament.
Following this we went up to the public viewing gallery and watched a debate in the House of Commons.
After our visit we walked out on to Westminster bridge to look at the Palace and other landmarks in London.
We returned via underground and train back to High Wycombe.
All students were a credit to themselves and the school.
