Students Explore the World of Opera
Last term, the music department collaborated once again with Garsington Opera through their Opera First programme. On Thursday, 6th July, the Garsington team visited Cressex to deliver an intensive one day workshop for Year 7 and 8 students, featuring warm-ups and movement exercises. Students sang, created practical work and lyrics inspired by Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro," and even devised alternative endings for the opera, including whether the wedding would take place. The workshop was followed by a trip to Wormsley, where students enjoyed listening to the orchestra and watching the opera.
